I am a blue morpho butterfly, specifically also known as morpho peleides in biological binomial nomenclature and as the Peleides blue morpho or common morpho. I am now a star on television: a recent episode entitled “Butterfly Blueprints” on Nova, an informative show about all sorts of science topics on PBS, talks about my thin and microscopic “scales” that gives my wings an iridescent sheen. My coloration is not derived from a pigment but rather from my scales’ reflectivity. I live in the rainforests, but mostly in which continent: Africa, Asia, or South America? What in the World? Country #10
I have over 45 million residents living on top of me! Spanish is my official language, while most of my people are Roman Catholic (90% of religious adherents). I declared my independence from Spain in July of 1810 and received it nine years later. The chief crops that are grown on top of me are bananas, cocoa beans (all kinds of chocolate are delicious!), corn, cut flowers, rice, and assorted vegetables. My UNESCO World Heritage Sites include the colonial city of Cartagena, San Agustín Archaeological Park (featuring more than 400 stone sculptures), Santa Cruz de Mompox, and Tierradentro National Archaeological Park. Besides the capital, cities include Bucaramanga, Cali, Cartagena, Cúcuta, Ibagué, Manizales, Medellín, and Pereira. Three Andes mountain ranges run through me. Finally, I'm the only South American country to have a coastline with both the Caribbean Sea and Pacific Ocean! What country am I? The answer is written below...Scroll down further...

What in the World? Country #8
The world's newest country being formed from the former largest country in Africa, I am located in north-central Africa. Unfortunately, bouts of civil unrest and ethnic conflicts occur within my borders. I have a petroleum industry encompassing a large part of government revenues. Pipelines deliver oil through my neighbor's territory, so I am trying to figure out the proper share of revenues this neighbor of mine can receive. My neighbor helps deliver oil to ports on the Red Sea and refining it. The White Nile river flows north and south through me, and my capital and largest city - Juba - is located beside it. My official language is English, and recognized languages include Bari, Dinka, Merle, Nuer, and Zande. There are many more languages and ethnicities living in me. What country am I? What in the World? Country #6
First off, let me introduce you to my geographical location: I am in Eastern Europe! I am divided into two administrative divisions; I cannot tell you what one of them is because my name is part of the admin. division's name, but the other one is the Serbian Republic (Republika Srpska), which aptly borders Serbia. My capital is Sarajevo; can you guess who I am yet? I have one of the lowest urbanization rates in Europe, yet I have several cities with populations between 100,000 and 1 million. I border only three countries: Serbia as I mentioned earlier, and also Croatia and Montenegro. While I am mainly landlocked, I am fortunate to have at least a little bit of access to the Adiatric Sea. Do you know who I am? Let's find out...scroll down for the answer!Answer: BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA!

What in the World? Country #5
My capital is Asunción, which lies east of a major river that is named just like me and is located in the south-central part of me! Paraná River, the second longest river in South America (hint!) after the mighty Amazon, runs along my borders that are south and east of the capital. I am comprised of a large area of swamps and marshes in the central and southern parts of me. All of the land west of the Paraná River is called Gran Chaco. This is one of the most 'inhospitable' areas in South America and is semi-arid, sparsely-populated, mainly flat, and usually extremely hot. However, forests and standing-alone trees are able to survive there, as well as thorny shrubs and cactus. What country am I? Find out below!Answer: PARAGUAY
