Canadian Provinces — Alberta
Located in Western Canada, the province of Alberta is located east of British Columbia, west of Saskatchewan, south of the Northwest Territories, and north of the United States of America (particular the state of Montana). With a population of more than 800,000, the capital of Alberta is Edmonton. In the southern part of Alberta, Calgary is the highest-populated city in with over 1 million residents. Alberta is a Prairie Province and has a robust agriculture industry, in addition to timber from managed forests. The Rocky Mountains form a natural border between Alberta and British Columbia. In touch with nature, Alberta boasts a few large national parks and some smaller ones. Wood Buffalo NP stretches from Northern Alberta up into the Northwest Territories. Meanwhile, Banff NP and Jasper NP are found in Western Alberta, immediately next to the border with British Columbia. Canadian quarters from the year 2005 commemorate Alberta's 100 years of being a province. An oil well is a centerpiece of those quarters, representing that Alberta is known for its oil sands.
