United Arab Emirates' Largest Island
Abu al Abyad is the largest island off the northern coast of UNITED ARAB EMIRATES, a unified state comprised of seven emirates in the Middle East. A spelling of Abu al Abyad with accent marks has a ū instead of u and a cedilla attached to the d. Located in the Persian Gulf*, Abu al Abyad is about 30 kilometers in length from west to east and 10 kilometers in width from north to south. Near the island's center, there is a town not surprisingly called Abu al Abyad! Several kilometers east in Abu al Abyad's east-central region lies the Abu al Abyad Island Airport. Surrounding islands include Al Rafeeq and Al Qantur.
* Geopolitics: In countries such as the U.A.E., the Persian Gulf is oftentimes referred to as the Arabian Gulf or simply the Gulf.
