Lago di Garda

Located in northern ITALY, the largest lake in the boot-shaped country is Lago di Garda (Lake Garda). It is a freshwater lake connected by the Sarca river on the north side of the lake and Mincio on the southernmost extent of the lake. Lago di Garda is between the cities of Brescia and Verona and located half-way in between Venice to the east and Milan to the west.
