Lough Neagh

Lough Neagh, a large freshwater lake in the east-central part of Northern Ireland (UNITED KINGDOM), sits about 10 miles and less than 20 kilometers west of Belfast - Northern Ireland's capital. Lough Neagh is the largest lake in the British Isles (Ireland and United Kingdom). With a population of over 20,000, the city of Antrim is situated near the lake's northeastern shore. Low-populated communities and villages surrounding Lough Neagh include Ballyronan, Cranfield, Derrymacash, Gawleys Gate, and Maghery.
