Fair Oaks Fun
Today, my family and I had a blast at FAIR OAKS FARMS in Fair Oaks, Indiana. The highlights of this place are the Birthing Barn (a theater-like opportunity to see mother cows give birth to their calves), Dairy Adventure (exhibit highlighting Fair Oaks' efforts to produce dairy while conserving the environment; there is also a surprise-filled 3D movie), Bus Tour (tours the facilities where the cows live, where the milk is extracted from the cow, etc.), Cheese Factory (place where cheese is obviously made) and the Green Gate Garden. According to the Fair Oaks Farms' website, a whopping 80 calves are born at Fair Oaks Farms every day in the Birthing Barn! At the Cheese Factory, there is a gift shop, ice cream parlor, and café; of course, Fair Oaks Farms incorporate cheese and milk they produce into the ice cream and meals like their famous grilled-cheese sandwiches, quesadillas, etc. Lots of things to do at Fair Oaks Farms!
