The National Weather Service in Wakefield has issued a
* Tornado Warning for...
Southern Hertford County in northeastern North Carolina...
Central Gates County in northeastern North Carolina...
Northwestern Chowan County in northeastern North Carolina...
* Until 100 AM EDT.
* At 1213 AM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a
tornado was located near Ahoskie, moving east at 35 mph.
HAZARD...Tornado.
SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.
IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed.
Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree
damage is likely.

Ahoskie around 1225 AM EDT.
Winton and Cofield around 1230 AM EDT.
Harrellsville and Roduco around 1240 AM EDT.
Gatesville around 1245 AM EDT.
Ryland and Tyner around 1255 AM EDT.
Sunbury and Hobbsville around 100 AM EDT.
Other locations impacted by this tornadic thunderstorm include Tunis,
Eure, Gliden, Easons Crossroads, Newsome Store, Savage, Chowan Beach,
Buckland, Carter and Union.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest
floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a
mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter
and protect yourself from flying debris.
