Frigid Weather Across the Country
From Montana to Maine and also Oregon's coastline and Alaska, a large area of the United States battles with extreme winter weather conditions. There is even a Freeze Warning in the Southeast, covering extreme Southeast Alabama, Northern Florida, and Southern Georgia including the cities of Dothan, AL, Tallahassee, FL, and Albany, GA. Eastern and southeastern counties North Dakota and western counties in Minnesota are under a Blizzard Warning. Located in various places, other alerts issued by the National Weather Service at weather.gov include Winter Storm Watches and Warnings, a Storm Warning over Lake Michigan, Wind Chill Watches and Warnings, and Winter Weather Advisories. While all of these alerts have different meanings (although there is sometimes confusion between Winter Storm alerts and Winter Weather advisories), all of them indicate frigid temperatures that are colder than normal. Of course, check with weather.gov or your favorite weather news source for detailed information in your area.
