Lake Maxinkuckee

Located in Southwestern Marshall County in Northern Indiana, Lake Maxinkuckee is one of the largest natural lakes in Indiana. In fact, it is the second largest, behind Lake Wawasee of neighboring Kosciusko County. The town of Culver lies to the north, having lodges, resorts, pleasant restaurants, and a popular root beer stand. Culver is also famous for its Culver Academies. A number of organizations are trying to protect natural areas around Lake Maxinkuckee from further development and to maintain water quality. One such organization is the Lake Maxinkuckee Environmental Council.
