Winter Storm Watches, Warnings In Heart of America

Winter Storm Watch for most of Indiana will be in effect in the latter part of Sunday into early Monday
For much of Indiana, the past few days have been wonderfully pleasant - sunny and not too cold, although colder than typically Spring temperatures of course. However, that may change at least for late Sunday and early Monday. According to the National Weather Service (www.weather.gov), a winter storm bringing several inches of snow and potentially gusty winds is currently east of the Rocky Mountains. Winter Storm Warnings and Winter Weather Advisories are in effect for the following areas: eastern Colorado, southern Iowa, much of Kansas, northern and western Missouri, southern Nebraska, northwestern Oklahoma, and extreme northern Texas. The counties of Adams, Brown, and Pike in western Illinois also have a Winter Storm Warning. Due to the Winter Storm in the central part of the United States, much of Illinois and Indiana, western and eastern Ohio (peculiarly not central, though), western Pennsylvania, eastern West Virginia, and western Maryland have Winter Storm Watches in effect. The Winter Storm Watch in Indiana, as seen in my side-to-side comparison maps above, was expanded to additional counties farther north and four counties in southeastern Indiana: Fayette, Franklin, Union, and Wayne.

3:04 P.M. Update: Central Indiana, more of Missouri, and more of western Illinois now have Winter Storm Warnings. The winter weather is not even near some areas (especially Indiana), but is approaching Missouri and western Illinois.
