On Amazing Race | Bound for Botswana

On Sunday's episode, seven remaining teams departed from VIETNAM and headed by flight to a land thousands of miles away: Southern Africa. The country they visited is BOTSWANA, which is east of Namibia, north of South Africa, south of Namibia's Caprivi Strip, and west of Zimbabwe. While in Vietnam, the teams received a clue telling them to go to the city of Maun in the Kalahari Desert. Most of them initially thought the city was in Kenya, but found out quickly that it is in Botswana. After arriving at Maun's international airport, teams boarded small planes taking them over the savannah and herds of majestic animals. Upon arriving to an area where Bushmen were present and the first challenge began, country music stars Caroline and Jennifer spotted a lion not too far away from them. For the Roadblock, one member of every team had to dig for a scorpion and put it in a jar safely - yikes! For the Detour, teams chose between 'Fire' (making a fire the hard way - sticks and friction) and 'Fowl' (setting up a trap for guinea fowl). Most teams initially chose to make a fire, and that was a good decision for Bates and Anthony because they finished 1st and arrived at the Pit Stop (the ending point in every episode) first. Two teams - Pam/Winnie and Chuck/Wynona (who finished 2nd and 3rd, respectively) - were the only ones who initially chose 'Fowl'. Teams like Joey/Meghan did switch from 'Fire' to 'Fowl' after having troubles with fire-making. Max and Katie, who were trying their best to get a fire started, finished last (7th) place but are still in the race because this episode was a non-elimination round. Below are the results!
