Baffin Bay — and Mercator Projection's Fallacy

Baffin Bay, one of the northernmost water bodies in the world, is north of Baffin Island of CANADA and west of Greenland. Greenland is the world's largest island, and it belongs to DENMARK.

Did You Know? The Mercator mapping projection was and still is controversial and a subject of geographic debate because it severely distorts areas near the poles. Places like Greenland, northern Canada (Baffin Island), and Europe appear larger than they are. Areas under colonial dominance in the past, especially Africa, were depicted as smaller in comparison.
