Canadian Provinces — British Columbia
Located east of the Pacific Ocean in Western Canada, the province of British Columbia is west of Alberta, south of Yukon, southwest of the Northwest Territories, and east of Alaska's panhandle (where Alaska's capital, Juneau, is located). British Columbia is home to many mountain ranges and spectacular scenery. The Rocky Mountains stretch from north to south, and the Coastal Mountains and Pacific Ranges are aptly-named for their close proximity to the Pacific Coast. Smaller ranges include Cariboo, Monashee, Purcell, and Selkirk. Vancouver Island is actually not the location for Vancouver, British Columbia's largest city. The island is home to Victoria, the provincial capital of British Columbia. The Strait of Georgia separates Vancouver, which is east of the strait in Southwest British Columbia, from Victoria Island which is west of the strait. Other islands include the Haida Gwaii islands (Graham and Moresby, among others in the group) and Banks Island.
