Physical Features of Saudi Arabia

SAUDI ARABIA is certainly known for its arid climate and deserts, like the Rub' al Khali (also known as the Empty Quarter) in the southern part of largest country on the Arabian Peninsula. It also features quite a lot of plateaus and some mountain ranges, including Jabal al Hijaz (Hejaz) along the western coast, the Najd (Nejd) uplands in central Saudi Arabia, and Jabal Shammar mountain range in the northern part of Saudi Arabia.
