People all across BAHRAIN are celebrating their country's National Day today on Wednesday, December 16th. National Day celebrates the coronation of King Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa (known as the hakim and later as the emir) to the throne of Bahrain in December 1961. This Gulf State later achieved independence from the United Kingdom in August 1971. Happy National Day!
