The National Weather Service in Raleigh has issued a
* Tornado Warning for...
Southern Wayne County in central North Carolina...
Northeastern Sampson County in central North Carolina...
* Until 145 AM EST.
* At 115 AM EST, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
was located 9 miles north of Clinton, moving northeast at 60 mph.
HAZARD...Tornado.
SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.
IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed.
Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree
damage is likely.
* This dangerous storm will be near...
Mount Olive and Mount Olive around 130 AM EST.
Goldsboro around 140 AM EST.
Walnut Creek around 145 AM EST.
Other locations impacted by this tornadic thunderstorm include Cliffs
Of The Neuse State Park, Hobbton, Mar-Mac, Elroy and Brogden.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest
floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a
mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter
and protect yourself from flying debris.
Tornadoes are extremely difficult to see and confirm at night. Do not
