The National Weather Service in Wilmington has issued a

* Tornado Warning for...
Central Robeson County in southeastern North Carolina...

* Until 130 AM EST.

* At 102 AM EST, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
was located near Purvis, or 12 miles southwest of Lumberton, moving
northeast at 50 mph.

HAZARD...Tornado.

SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed.
Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree
damage is likely.

* Locations impacted include...
Lumberton, Fairmont, Robeson Community College, Smiths,
Howellsville, Barker Ten Mile, Hestertown, Mcdonald, Raynham and
Southeastern Regional Medical Center.

This includes the following highways...
Interstate 74 between mile markers 212 and 204, and between mile
markers 209 and 210, and near mile marker 214.
Interstate 95 IN North Carolina between mile markers 3 and 24.
US Route 74 between mile markers 365 and 368.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest
floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a
mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter
and protect yourself from flying debris.
