New Post Label!
GeoFact of the Day is pleased to introduce a new post label specifically dedicated to towns, villages, and communities in the UNITED STATES. Lots of places in the USA are depicted as the "All-American Town." Therefore, I wanted to create a new post label called American Town Series to write all sorts of things about communities. They might have interesting names — such as towns featured in the Arkansas Towns with Interesting Names (↗), Atlas (↗), and Mermaid, DE (↗) posts — or an interesting history, or maybe some landmarks that provide unique settings and heritage for a particular area. Do you know a lot about a local community's naming (how did that name come about?), history, heritage, and/or culture and would love to see this place featured on GeoFact of the Day? Or is there another country for which you wish to see a "_____ Town Series"? Please feel free to post a comment below — your comment can even be anonymous. Stay tuned for more posts in this category!
