Plateau du Manguéni

Plateau du Manguéni is a relatively flat, elevated plain in the northernmost area of NIGER. It is located east of southeastern Algeria and south of Libya, near both countries' borders. Its location in regards to other plateaus is north of Plateau du Djado and west-northwest of Plateau du Tchigai. This Niger topography map produced by Sadelmelik on Wikipedia visualizes Plateau du Manguéni - the smile-shaped feature in extreme northern Niger - hovering above surrounding land on three of the plateau's sides. As shown in the embedded Bing Maps frame below, a dried-up intermittent stream cuts into the plateau's southern edge, creating an interesting landscape. Finally, the plateau's west-to-east length is about 200 kilometers (~124 miles).
