February Independence Days


Eleven countries and one autonomous region celebrate their date of independence in the month of February. The countries that celebrate independence day in February (the year of independence is in parentheses) are Chile (1810), Dominican Republic (1844), Estonia (1918), Gambia (1965), Grenada (1974), Kosovo (2008), Kuwait (1961), Lithuania (1918), Saint Lucia (1979), Serbia (1804), and Sri Lanka (1948). Tibet, an autonomous region that belongs to China, celebrates its independence from Manchu's Qing Dynasty in the year 1913.
