The National Weather Service of Northern Indiana recently issued a BLIZZARD WARNING for thirteen counties in Northern Indiana and two counties in Southwest Michigan (Berrien and Cass). The Indiana counties are Cass, Elkhart, Fulton, Grant, Kosciusko, LaPorte, Marshall, Miami, Pulaski, Saint Joseph, Starke, Wabash, and White. All counties in Indiana have a Wind Chill Warning while most counties have a Winter Storm Warning. Blowing snow and very treacherous road conditions have caused counties across the state and Midwest to issue travel emergencies, where most travel is discouraged unless there is an emergency. Go to the Indiana Dept. of Homeland Security County Travel Status webpage for the latest travel status on a county-by-county basis.
In addition to this Blizzard Warning, the East Beaufort Sea coastline area in Northeast Alaska also has a Blizzard Warning. It includes the town of Kaktovik.
