Basics About Jordan

The capital of JORDAN, a Middle East country located east of Israel, northwest of Saudi Arabia, and south of Syria, is Amman. Jordan's eastern panhandle is to the left of Iraq. The Jordan River and the salty Dead Sea are to the left of Jordan and right of Israel. The ancient city of Petra is a famous ancient city and archaeological site in Southern Jordan. Topographically, Jordan is mostly desert land, especially in the east. The official language is Arabic, while English is also spoken. Lastly, most Jordanians are Arabs and believe in Islam.
