Cologne Cathedral

Germany Week in August

The Cologne Cathedral (a.k.a. Kölner Dom or Hohe Domkirche St. Peter und Maria) is a 13th century, Gothic-styled structure and is located in Cologne, GERMANY. According to one of my atlases, it is the most visited monument in Germany and is one of the largest Gothic structures in the world! Construction of this cathedral began in the year 1248 but was halted for centuries, until construction based on the original plan concluded in 1880. This is the last Germany Week post; thanks for reading along!
