MALAYSIA is a country split by the South China Sea in Southeast Asia. The western part is the Malay Peninsula's southern section, which borders Thailand (north) and Singapore (south). The eastern part of Malaysia is on the island of Borneo, which is shared by Brunei and Indonesia. The capital of Malaysia is Kuala Lumpur. The currency is the Malaysian Ringgit, and its ISO 4217 currency code is MYR. Standing over 13,000 feet and almost 4,100 meters above sea level, Gunung (Mount) Kinabalu is the highest mountain in Malaysia. Mount Kinabalu located east of Kota Kinabalu city and situated in the northern area of Borneo island, about 43 kilometers and 27 miles southeast of the South China Sea.
