Also known as Huang He, the Yellow River is the second longest river in CHINA, after the Yangtze River. It is also the third longest river in Asia, after the Yangtze and Yenisei. The Yellow is the world's sixth longest river, flowing for 3,398 miles! Water in the Yellow River begins its journey east of Yagradagze Shan mountain (over 4,700 meters in height) in Qinghai Province, specifically in west-central China. The Yellow River then flows for over 3,000 miles eastward into Bo Hai bay, a water body in northeastern China and northwest of the Yellow Sea. Before reaching Bo Hai, the Yellow River flows near cities such as Lanzhou, Yinchuan, Zhengzhou, Kaifeng, and Jinan.
