Denali (Mount McKinley)


Mount McKinley, located in southern AlaskaAugust 30th, 2015 Update: Sally Jewell, Secretary of the Dept. of the Interior, announced that Mount McKinley is now officially known as Denali. This announcement was endorsed by President Obama.

Mount McKinley, the highest mountain in North America and the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, stands 20,237 feet tall. McKinley's previous height measurement in the year 1952 was 83 feet more than the most current elevation. The snow-capped peak is located in southern Alaska, more specifically in the Denali National Park. This mountain was named after the 25th US president William McKinley and has been known as Denali by native Alaskans for decades.
