The National Weather Service in St Louis has issued a
* Tornado Warning for...
Northwestern Clinton County in south central Illinois...
Southeastern Madison County in southwestern Illinois...
Northeastern St. Clair County in southwestern Illinois...
* Until 1115 PM CST.
* At 1037 PM CST, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a
tornado was located over Freeburg, moving northeast at 45 mph.
HAZARD...Tornado.
SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.
IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed.
Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree
damage is likely.
* This dangerous storm will be near...
Mascoutah around 1045 PM CST.
Scott AFB around 1050 PM CST.
Lebanon, New Baden and New Memphis around 1055 PM CST.
Trenton, Aviston and Albers around 1105 PM CST.
Germantown around 1110 PM CST.
Breese and St. Rose around 1115 PM CST.
Other locations impacted by this tornadic thunderstorm include
Bartelso, Summerfield and Damiansville.
This includes Interstate 64 in Illinois between exits 19 and 34.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest
floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a
mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter
and protect yourself from flying debris.
Tornadoes are extremely difficult to see and confirm at night. Do not
wait to see or hear the tornado. TAKE COVER NOW!
