The National Weather Service in North Platte has issued a
* Tornado Warning for...
Southwestern Cherry County in north central Nebraska...
* Until 630 PM MDT.
* At 538 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
was located 18 miles north of Ashby, or 41 miles southeast of
Gordon, moving northeast at 20 mph.
HAZARD...Tornado and ping pong ball size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.
IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed.
Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree
damage is likely.
* This tornadic thunderstorm will remain over mainly rural areas of
southwestern Cherry County, including the following locations...
Round Lake, Intersection of Highway 61 and Survey Valley Road and
Whitman Road crossing the North Branch of the Middle Loup River.
This includes Highway 61 between mile markers 172 and 191.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
This Tornado Warning replaces the Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued
for the same area.
