GeoFact of the Day Blog WeatherWhiz Update (8:53 P.M. EST, Feb. 14th, 2015):
Blizzard Warnings remain in effect for seven* states in the United States, and one of those states is not Alaska! In parentheses are the times and days (Eastern Time) these warnings are expected to expire according to the National Weather Service. Of course, travel conditions could still be treacherous after these warnings expire.
~ Alger and Marquette counties in Northern Michigan (expected to expire at 10 P.M. tonight - one hour after I posted this)
~ Southern Connecticut (9 A.M.)
~ Central/Eastern Long Island, New York (9 A.M. Monday)
~ Southern/Eastern Maine (7 A.M. Monday)
~ Eastern Massachusetts (7 A.M. Monday)
~ Southeast New Hampshire (7 A.M. Monday)
~ Southern Rhode Island (4 A.M. Monday)
* Eight states formerly had Blizzard Warnings. The warning for Elkhart, Fulton, Kosciusko, La Porte, Marshall, St. Joseph, and Starke counties in North-Central Indiana and Berrien and St. Joseph counties in Southwest Michigan is no longer in force (it expired). However, road conditions will still be treacherous.
