Belgium Extinct and Endangered Species
As of August 25th, 2014, the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species™ lists 7 critically endangered and 10 endangered species in BELGIUM, a Western European country famous for its financial industry and chocolate. The Angel Shark, Atlantic Sturgeon, Balearic Shearwater, Blue Skate (Common Skate), European Eel, Sociable Lapwing, and Spengler's Freshwater Mussel are the seven critically endangered species. Ever since the time when the IUCN established the Red List, at least 1 species is expected to be extinct (Houting fish) while 1 is extinct in the wild but still exists in some botanical gardens (Brome des Ardennes grass).
