Bahrain Endangered Species
As of August 14th, 2014, the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species™ lists 3 critically endangered and 5 endangered species in BAHRAIN (link to Bahrain post). Fortunately for Bahrain, these numbers are lower than those of most other countries, although this can partially be explained by Bahrain's somewhat small land area. The three critically endangered species are the Green Sawfish, Hawksbill Turtle, and the Sociable Lapwing. The Sociable Lapwing lives in Central Asia, parts of the Middle East (Bahrain as an example), South Asia (especially India and Pakistan), and Northern and Eastern Africa. The Green Turtle, Loggerhead turtle, Saker Falcon, Scalloped Hammerhead, and Yellow-Breasted Bunting represent Bahrain's endangered species list.
