First Indiana Human Infection of West Nile Virus

The Indiana State Department of Health confirmed with its Arboviral Disease Map there is now a person infected with the West Nile Virus. The county in which this occurred is Ripley County, located in Southeastern Indiana not too far from Cincinnati, Ohio. Nine counties previously reported West Nile Virus, but the WNV was in mosquitoes and have not been transferred to humans.
