At the Heart of the Himalayas

The serene country of NEPAL, also known as the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal, is in the central part of the Himalayas, the tallest mountain range on Earth. Nepal's northern border with China is the main location for the crests (tallest points) of Himalayas' mountains. Standing proudly at 29,035 feet (8,850 meters), Mount Everest is the tallest mountain on Earth from sea level to its crest. It is located on the northern border in Eastern Nepal. Nepal's capital, Kathmandu, is found at the southern slopes of the Himalayas and west of Mt. Everest. Bhutan is a smaller country in the high reaches of the mountain range. It is located east of Nepal and the sliver of India that separates both of them.
