Independence Days in Early July
July 4th is Independence Day for the UNITED STATES — and for Abkhazia, a region in the western part of the country of GEORGIA that is striving for their own sovereign country. Abkhazia's independence is considered to be an unofficial independence from Georgia in 1993. If you didn't know already, the United States achieved independence from the British way back in the year 1776; being an American, I know that freedoms aren't 100% given to us on their own; I am grateful that they are protected by those who have fought and are fighting to maintain our freedoms. On July 1, BURUNDI and RWANDA celebrated their independence days, while ALGERIA, CAPE VERDE, and VENEZUELA will celebrate their independence on July 5.
