Belgium

Famous worldwide for its chocolate and financial industry, BELGIUM is located in Western Europe and achieved independence in 1839 thanks to the Treaty of London. The North Sea is located to the northwest; Belgium is located northeast of France, south of the Netherlands, and west of Germany and Luxembourg. The capital of Belgium — Brussels, also spelled Brussel or Bruxelles — is the main city for European Union affairs. Belgium was one of the founders of the European Economic Community, which later transformed into the European Union. Belgium's currency is the Euro, and the Belgian Franc was the currency in 2002 and before.
