Islands of Guinea-Bissau
While the country of GUINEA-BISSAU in Western Africa is quite small and sometimes hard-to-find on maps, it does possess many offshore islands in the Atlantic Ocean. The islands of the country are grouped in an archipelago named Arquipélago dos Bijagós in Guinea-Bissau's official language, Portuguese. Also, the archipelago is called Bijagós Islands and Bijagós Archipelago in English. The largest island of Guinea-Bissau and the archipelago is Orango (Ilha de Orango in Portuguese). Other islands include Bolama, Bubaque, Caravela, Formosa, Jeta, Roxa, and Uno. There are no people living on some of Guinea-Bissau's smallest islands. Learn more about Guinea-Bissau!
