Today (September 5th, 2019) is already presenting some unfortunate weather-related circumstances to several states along the Atlantic coast in the UNITED STATES, especially North Carolina and South Carolina but also including parts of coastal Georgia and Florida. At about 1:00 AM Eastern Time, the National Weather Service issued a TORNADO WATCH for coastal counties in North and South Carolina, and this alert is expected to last until 7:00 PM today or even later than that. In addition, some areas in the aforementioned states (particularly the Carolinas) will experience storm surges of up to 5 to 10 feet — and of course Hurricane Dorian will splash lots of rain on land and will subsequently cause severe flooding issues. If you are currently in the impacted areas, please stay safe, turn around don't drown if you come across a flooded roadway, and take tornado warnings and sirens seriously!
