Small South Dakota Town for Sale
If you have more than $400,000 and want to buy your own town in South Dakota, there's an opportunity for you! Daniel Simmons-Ritchie of the Rapid City Journal (Rapid City, SD) report that the owner of Swett, South Dakota (MapQuest link) is offering his small town (population: 2) for sale. Less than 10 miles east of Badlands National Park, Swett is conveniently located off U.S. Route 18 in western Bennett County. The town formerly had a slightly larger population (40), grocery store, and post office; the town's tavern is still open.
