Saint Martin

Saint MartinSAINT MARTIN is the French side of the island that is 190 miles east of Puerto Rico. The southern part of the island is known as Sint Maarten (see Netherlands Antilles post), which belongs to the Netherlands side. St. Martin is near Saint Barthélemy (St. Barts), southwest of Anguilla, and northwest of St. Kitts and Nevis. The capital is Marigot, which has around 5,700 inhabitants. Philipsburg is the capital for Sint Maarten. Saint Martin's currency is the Euro (EUR) since France uses this currency. Sint Maarteners use the Netherlands Antilles Guilder (ANG) as their currency.
