United States Virgin Islands

United States Virgin IslandsA constituent of the Leeward Islands, a grouping of islands that is situated along the northeastern fringe of the Caribbean Sea, the UNITED STATES VIRGIN ISLANDS comprises of three major islands and an abundance of minor islands. As shown in the inset image in the bottom left of the map, the three major islands, Saint Thomas, Saint John, and Saint Croix, are arranged in a formation that sort of resembles eyebrows and a mouth that is neither smiling nor frowning; St. Thomas is the left eyebrow, St. John is the right eyebrow, and St. Croix is the mouth! Minor islands, many of which are uninhabited and/or privately-owned, include Buck Island, another Buck Island (near St. Croix), Capella Island, Hans Lollik and Little Hans Lollik, Water Island, and many more. The capital, located along the southern shore of St. Thomas island, is Charlotte Amalie. Since it is a non-incorporated territory belonging to the United States (USA), the U.S. Virgin Islands uses the United States Dollar (ISO 4217 Code is USD).
