Honduras


HondurasHONDURAS is a Central American country with a land area of 112,100 square kilometers (almost 43,300 square miles) and a population of over 8.2 million residents. Honduras's bordering countries are El Salvador, Guatemala, and Nicaragua. It also borders the Caribbean Sea and the Golfo de Fonseca, which connects to the Pacific Ocean. The capital and largest Honduran city in terms of population is Tegucigalpa, which has over 990,000 residents. The currency is the Honduran Lempira; the ISO 4217 currency code is HNL.
