Guam Endangered Species



The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species™ for Guam in the North Pacific Ocean (western section) lists 3 extinct species, 2 extinct-in-the-wild species, 9 critically endangered species, and 22 endangered species. Guam's nine critically endangered species are the Guam Crow, Hawksbill Turtle, Nightingale Reed Warbler, Serianthes nelsonii tree, Stevin's Emo Skink, Townsend's Shearwater bird, and three species of Tree Snails (Partula gibba, Partula radiolata, and Samoana fragilis). Endangered species include the Bridled White-Eye bird, Dumeril's Tropical Gecko, Eastern Curlew, Great Knot bird, Japanese Eel, Mariana Fruit Dove, Mariana Swiftlet bird, Micronesian Scrubfowl, Pacific (Polynesian) Sheath-Tailed Bat, and Ulithi Fruit Bat.
