Here is the weather at 6:10 P.M. Central Time. The map to the left shows all of the tornado warnings in southern Mississippi and Alabama that have been issued since afternoon into the evening hours. Original Alabama and Mississippi maps came from Daniel Dalet of d-maps.com.
In southern Alabama and Mississippi, there is a horizontal line of TORNADO WARNINGS stretching from southern JEFFERSON DAVIS and northern MARION counties in Mississippi all the way east to northern MONROE and southern WILCOX counties in Alabama. Tornado warnings are northeast of Hattiesburg, MS, north of Monroeville, AL and Jackson, AL, and southwest of Alabama's capital, Montgomery. A TORNADO WATCH is in effect for southern Alabama and Mississippi and some counties in Louisiana until 11 P.M. Central Time.
6:50 P.M. Central Time Update: southern and southwestern BUTLER, northeast CONECUH, northern COVINGTON, southern CRENSHAW counties under a Tornado Warning as well.
Meanwhile, there is a BLIZZARD WARNING for much of South Dakota, western Minnesota, northern Nebraska, and southeast North Dakota. Visit www.weather.gov for the latest information.
