Mayotte
Located in the Indian Ocean southeast of Comoros and north of Madagascar, MAYOTTE is an overseas region and territorial collectivity of France. The capital is Mamoudzou, which is located in the easternmost part of Mahoré (Grande-Terre), the large island. Since it is part of France, the official language is French although Comorian is also widely spoken. The e's in the names of Mayotte's towns may have an acute accent above, while the names of islands either have île(s) or îlot in front. Pamanzi (Petit-Terre) is the second largest island, and Chissioua Mtsamboro is the third largest. As seen in the map to the left, Mayotte possesses tinier islands as well. The currency used is the Euro, just like in France.
