I Countries

Countries with names starting with the letter 'I'

The A to Z categories are based on the English language and inadvertently might not include all native country names.

There are eight countries in the world whose names start with the letter I, and they are only on the continents of Asia and Europe. Three 'I' countries are in Europe, while five are in Asia. The European countries are ICELAND (capital: Reykjavik), IRELAND (capital: Dublin), and ITALY (capital: Rome). The Asian countries are INDIA (capital: New Delhi), INDONESIA (capital: Jakarta), IRAN (capital: Tehran), IRAQ (capital: Baghdad), and ISRAEL (capital: Jerusalem). COTE D'IVOIRE is technically another 'I' country, if you prefer using the English name IVORY COAST.
