National Day Recently Celebrated in Liechtenstein

People all across LIECHTENSTEIN celebrated their country's 80th National Day (Staatsfeiertag) on Saturday, August 15th. This National Day was established in 1940 in conjunction with the Feast of the Assumption celebrating the Blessed Virgin Mary. The holiday also celebrates the next-day birthday of Prince Franz Josef II, the prince of Liechtenstein at that time. 1990 was the year when Liechtenstein's National Day became codified into law as an official holiday. Happy belated National Day!
