New York County Road Signs


Many, but certainly not all, counties across the United States have interesting county road signs that go above and beyond the typical street blade sign. Some county road signs are unique to a particular county, like Orange County, New York for example. Others share the same attributes due to recommendations in the national Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, which established a blue or dark blue pentagon sign with a yellow or white outline. As shown in the second-to-last slide in the GeoFact of the Day Blog PowerPoint presentation below, most counties in New York have county road signs conforming to MUTCD standards.
