The four surrounding countries are Austria to the south, Germany to the west, Poland to the northeast, and Slovakia to the east and southeast. Situated east of the north-south Vltava River, the capital of Czech Republic is Prague (Praha). Other major cities in this country include Brno, České Budějovice, Liberec, Ostrava, and Plzeň (Pilsen). The currency is the Czech Koruna, and its ISO 4217 currency code is CZK.
