SLOVAKIA is located in Central Europe, bordering 5 countries: Austria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, and Ukraine. The capital is Bratislava, which has a population greater than 425,000. Other cities include Banská Bystrica, Košice, Liptovský Mikuláš, Nitra, Prešov, Trnava, and Žilina. Since 2009, Slovaks use the Euro as their currency. The previous currency was the Slovak Korun, and its ISO 4217 currency code was SKK.
