Pohnpei is a Pacific Ocean island that has a length of approximately fifteen miles. It is surrounded by many smaller islands and located in the eastern part of the Federated States of MICRONESIA country. The capital of the country, Palikir, is found inland in the northwest area of Pohnpei. Islands surrounding Pohnpei include Parem, Sokehs, Takaieu, and Temwen.
